“Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.” — Rudyard Kipling.
Ann-Christine, our host this week, writes, “There is much to learn from old wisdom – and wit…that speaks to us”. Her challenge is for us to make others feel these quotes through our pictures! I agree that Illustrated quotes with pictures help to make the saying more memorable. Below are a few of my favorites.
“You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” – Walter Hagen
“Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food, and medicine for the soul.” — Luther Burbank
“The butterfly is a flying flower; the flower a tethered butterfly.” — Ecouchard Le Brun
“No tree becomes rooted and sturdy unless many a wind assails it. For by its very tossing it tightens its grip and plants its roots more securely.” – Seneca
Thanks goes to Ann-Christine for selecting this wonderful topic which has given me a lot to think about! And be sure to see her post by clicking here.
And please remember another favorite quote as you go about your week: “Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.” – J.M. Barrie
“Quotes hold profound power to shift mindsets, influence behavior, and provide immediate, relatable wisdom, often acting as a “drug” that can shift moods. They condense complex, life-altering ideas into simple, memorable, and actionable phrases.” – Bridget Webber

Lovely pairing Sylvia.
Luv the Ecouchard Le Brun quote! Beautiful post, Sylvia.
Thank you so much, John! I feel lucky to have found Le Brun’s quote about flowers and butterflies, glad that you also like it!
Beautifully partnered images and quotes Sylvia. I loved the LeBrun quote and the images are wonderful.
Thank you Tina. As a side note, the beautiful tulips and card were a gift from you and Shaun after a stay in the hospital. And I love the quote by Luther Burbank, it says it all!!
The tree is fantastic as is the quote that goes with it. Wonderful post, Sylvia.
This fur tree is beside the Atlantic Ocean in Maine. Between the north winds, snow and salt water in the air it is amazing how well it is surviving!! Thank you for your kind words.
It’s made of sterner stuff and that gives it character.
So happy to see you here, Sylvia! Wondeful quotes and pairings – I can only agree with them! So sweet with your dog and the flowers, and Seneca is always right. Beautiful photography as usual. Thank you again for landing here!
Thank you for your kind words, Ann-Christine! It feels good to be back again and hearing from my friends.
