Lens Artists Photo Challenge #395 The Colors of Water and Looking Back to #155

“I am more and more fascinated by the reflections of colors in water. It is quite beyond me.”— Claude Monet

This post features the many Colors of Water!! Endless colors and patterns captured with my camera from lakes, rivers, oceans and even rain puddles.

Beth is hosting the photo Challenge this week.  She is suggesting we refer back to our earlier blog #155 On The WaterJuly 10, 2021, and now look forward and post additional pictures showing anything that is on the water. I will start off with a few pictures taken on the beach near my house on Kiawah Island, SC.

“Pink moon lifted over the sea on the spring equinox, soft and luminous against the fading light. The reflection stretched across the water in a stunning view.” – unknown

The Super Moon over Kiawah in August 2005.

Sunrise reflection on the ocean showing a mirror-like reflection of the sun where waves have recently retreated in contrast to the rippled waves approaching shore with shimmering, broken reflections.

A reflected scene shown in a rain puddle on Kiawah.

“It is sunset now, as the sky is a lit with vibrant colors on the horizon, pink, blue and golden is the backdrop, with its reflection highlighted in the sea.” — Annette (Wengert) Tarpley

“The still waters of a lake reflect the beauty around it. When the mind is still, the beauty of the self is reflected in it.” — B.K.S. Iyengar

Interesting colors reflected in the Grand Canal in Venice from the nearby stately old buildings.

Blue crabs and marsh mud can be seen under the water’s surface in this local pond.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this collection of Colors on the Water.

Thanks goes to Beth, for suggesting such a great topic!!

  1. Sylvia, I love your colors on the water! They are all wonderful but my favorite is the opening shot of the Super Moon. I also love the heron by the pond and the crabs in the water. Thanks for this great response to the challenge.
