Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #170: Street Art – Boston

Street art, such as sculptures, murals, graffiti, poster art, is commonly displayed on buildings, walls, sidewalks – anywhere it can attract public attention. This week Patti invites us to share images of street art whether it is scrawled messages all the way up to the most elaborate of commissioned work. Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: #165: Going Wide

“Appreciation is like looking through a wide-angle lens that lets you see the entire forest, not just the one tree limb you walked up on.” – Doc Childre Life through a wide angle lens. This is where the camera records what you see when looking at a particular scene with eyes fixed in one area. By using shorter lenses you are able to get more in the picture and everything is on a smaller scale. Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: #152 Shadows and Shade

“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree and long time ago.” – Warren Buffett This week our Photo Challenge is to show examples of Shadows and Shade. I decided to feature various pictures starting with this opening picture showing both shadows and shade on the golf course green behind our house in Maine. The world is full of squares, circles, triangles which can be seen most everywhere. Boston Massachusetts is one of many cities filled with beautiful geometric, architectural designs both old and new. Lens-Artist Photo Challenge: #130 IT’S A SMALL WORLD

This week Lens-Artist’s guest host, Anne Sandler suggests we think about close-up and macro photography. She skillfully describes the difference between the two. Be sure to read her post, It’s a Small World. I have a macro lens but find that it is not used much. Instead, I tend to photograph small objects using a long lens with a short focal point. Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: #109 The Sun – A Road Trip North

Several years ago, a talented group of four ladies started a blog log called Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. Each week one of them selects a topic and the challenge for all LA blog followers is to post their pictures and text relative to the topic. By the way, anyone is welcome to join this international group of photographers.

Participating in this continues to be quite rewarding. It has trained my eye to be more aware of people and things to photograph in addition to making new blogging friends all over the world.

Photography has always been a big part of my life and traveling offers many wonderful photo opportunities. I live on Kiawah Island in South Carolina and spend summers in southern Maine. Hope you like seeing my posts as much as I enjoy creating it!
