Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #410/154 One Photo Edited

“A different edit can create a another picture with a different focal point and mood.”

This week, Ritva invites us to explore a few different editing methods we often use to create moods or perspective in an image. Learning to capture the same subject through a variety of unique approaches.

One easy editing option is cropping the picture a couple of different ways as demonstrated in this first set.  I am not very pleased with this first picture. The harsh sunlight through the front door is creating deep shadows that are a little difficult to work with.

In this edit, Photoshop was used to change the harsh lighting and bring out some colors in the puppy’s coat. Also, the colors in the flowers were soften so as not to visually compete with Tucker.

My favorite and final edit. The main focal point now is our puppy smelling flowers for the very first time!

Another easy way to change the look and feel of one of your pictures is to edit it first and then converting it to black and white as I have done with this pictures of orchids in out house.

A third approach to editing for a different look could be to give it an abstract look that has an entirely feel. This was taken on the 18th hole of Sugar Loaf Golf Course in Maine.

Hope you enjoyed see these few edited images.

Ritva chose a great topic! She encourages us to play around with our pictures and to see what a difference various ways of editing can make. Be sure to see her excellent pictures and read her thoughts by clicking here

“You don’t take a picture, you make it.”
