“Good memories are our second chance at happiness.” – Queen Elizabeth II
This week’s photo challenge has me taking a little trip down memory lane. Looking through old pictures brings back so many wonderful moments—the celebrations, the laughter, the people we love, and all the little memories that made those days so special. I thought I’d share a few of the celebrations that stand out in my mind and the photos that bring those happy memories back to life. I will begin by showing a joyful conga line winding through a favorite restaurant in Aruba, where friends and great food made for an unforgettable evening.
Back at our hotel by the pool, everyone was being serenading with some lively local music!
A vibrant ceremonial parade in Kerala, India, during a business trip when I was accompanying my husband.
Closer to home and back in the United States, our family proudly watched as our son received his master’s degree diploma during the graduation celebration at Stern University in New York City.
Much closer to home, actually this was taken in our backyard during one of the many summertime neighborhood barbeque roast block parties.
This past Thanksgiving was our family’s first early morning “Turkey Run” on the beach at Kiawah Island. A great thing to do, knowing that after the run, or mile walk, it would be ok to eat all you wanted while enjoying the rest of the Holiday!! This yearly event attracts thousands of residents and guests no matter how the weather is – rainy, windy, chilly or simply wonderful! Good news, for us, the conditions were perfect!
Before closing I want to share this quote by Maya Angelou.
“We may forget the details, but we never forget how the special moments made us feel.”
Thanks goes to Patti for suggesting we look back at the celebrations and fun times in our life! Remembering them should make us smile; that is an additional gift our celebrations can keep giving us.
