Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #237 Bringing Softness

“I like the muted sounds, the shroud of grey, and the silence that comes with fog.” – Om Malik

This banner shot shows how fog and natural light can bring softness and beauty to everything it touches.

“Our soul is like a soft and gentle flower, it needs to be nurtured, cared for, tended to, with sufficient sunlight, fresh air and freedom to bloom into its most precious and beautiful form. – Miya Yamanouchi

The photo challenge this week is led by Bren, she suggests we bring or show softness in a few of our photos. One way this can be accomplished in camera is by photographing in the fog or in post processing by using a software program. The softness in the petals of this camilia flower was created in Photoshop software.

“In nature, everything has a job. The job of the fog is to beautify further the existing beauties!” – Mehmet Murat İldan

This ethereal image shows how fog can bring out the softer side of an otherwise ordinary landscape scene on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

“Morning is silent, morning is calm, morning is beautiful, but it’s it wonderful when you wake early in the foggy morning and walk some minutes alone and feel your presence in the world.” – Anonymous

A solitory figure on a morning walk by the Atlantic Ocean on Kiawah. This was taken during the golden hour as the fog was slowly clearing off the water.

“Be soft hearted as the soft petals of a flower.” – unknown

Hope you enjoyed seeing these pictures and be sure to check out Bren’s post by clicking here. I will close with one of my favorite quotes:

“Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine they see all day.” – Catherine Pulsifer
