Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: #85 PHOTO TREASURE HUNT

This week Tina decided to send us on a treasure hunt!  To make it interesting she selected specific items to include in our photographs.  Challenge Items: Sunrise and/or sunset, Something cold and/or hot, a bird, a dog, a funny sign, a bicycle, a seascape and/or mountain landscape, a rainbow, a church, a musical instrument, a boat, a plane, a waterfall.   Extra Credit Items:  An expressive portrait of one or more people, a very unusual place, knitting or sewing, a fish, an animal you don’t normally see, a bucket, a hammer, a street performer, a double rainbow.

Be sure to check out Tina’s blog, Travels and Trifles, to see how she incorporates these items in her beautiful pictures!

I decided to start by showing a two portraits.  This first picture is a retired nurse:  her face and eyes show the love and caring she has for others along with unmistakable signs of stress and hardship.  Her older dog is a constant companion and his devotion is obvious by his body language and eyes.  (A portrait of love and kindness.)  If you have not already read this lady’s story and the unexpected kindness from a stranger, it is the subject of a recent post on www.mycolorfulexpressions.com:  Lens-Artists Photo Challenge:  #83 Future.

These happy people are having a wonderful time at this popular restaurant in Aruba!  When the music started, this dancing line wound its way among the many tables.  Wonder if this picture would count as expressive portraits of several people, participating in a street dance in an unusual place?! ☺

These next two pictures show a sunrise and a sunset seascape, featuring migratory birds, on Kiawah Island, SC.

A few live shrimp in the bucket for this egret’s  breakfast!  This is regular morning ritual.  The egret, named Elvis, follows this man when he buys the shrimp and then they walk back together to the pier.

These beautiful fish have been selectively bred since the 1800’s for both their coloration and interesting shapes.  Koi are a type of hybridized carp and it is not unusual to see them in residential ponds or parks.  They are known for their striking colors and beauty.
