MAGICAL LIGHT: Lens-Artists Photo Challenge

This week Amy shared some of her favorite pictures of sunrises and sunsets.  She is challenging us to share special moments we captured when observing Magical Light.  Where better to see gorgeous light than in spectacular sunrises and sunsets when the sky is full of design and color!  Except for the last picture, these photos were taken near our home on Kiawah Island, SC.

“Nature speaks to us through different images, landscapes, colors, patterns and forms of exquisite beauty.  As we admire nature’s extravagance our emotions and feelings become part of it.  This harmonious balance makes our souls happy…”  ∼ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Early morning sun light turns the sky into a dazzling red-orange color.  The perfect backdrop for these birds as they begin migration south.  We watch them leave knowing they will return again next season to rest and feed during their journey north.

“Who can see the beauty in a sunrise or sunset without feeling the awesomeness of it in their heart?  ∼ unknown

“A new day is dawning giving you another chance to make a difference in the world.” ∼ unknown

“The sky is the soul of all scenery.  It makes the earth lovely at sunrise and splendid at sunset.  In the one, it breaths over the earth a crystal-like ether, in the other a liquid gold.”  ∼ Thomas Campbell

Depending on the time of the year, the Magical Light from the sunset colors can be breathtakingly gorgeous with rich tones of oranges, reds, blues and yellows, or dark and moody after a storm.

“Sunsets are so beautiful that they almost seem as if we were looking through the gates of heaven.  ∼  John Lubbock

This picture was taken in Maine as the sky exploded with light between the clouds as the sun dropped down behind the trees.

“May every sunrise bring you hope, may every sunset bring you peace.”  ∼ unknown
