“The connections we make to people, places, things, and ideas, are what give purpose and meaning to our lives.” – Donna
The connections we chose in our lives are very powerful. My connection with family, other people, my community, places I love and ideas I hold dear is the sum total of who I am. And it is my connection and relationship with nature that gives me a sense of calm and inner peacefulness. Whether watching a butterfly dart from flower to flower or listening to the constant rhythm of waves beating on the sand as birds fly about. I am continually reminded of the joy and wonder that can be found in the simplest things.

Below is a series of nature shots taken close to our home on Kiawah Island, SC. Such a beautiful Island with abundant wildlife.

There is nothing like the reflections of of time spent on the beach. It is never the same and yet always generates the same calm feelings, and connectedness. I love the crispiness of the butterfly photo and the perfect composition of the magnolia tree by the bridge. And the Angelou quote has always bee a favorite of mine. A great add to the post. Love it. Sylvia.
What a beautiful collection, Sylvia! A wonderful place to reflect upon one’s connections.

Absolutely gorgeous photos and a lovely post, Sylvia.
Sylvia, your connections are stunning. I love shots from Kiawah but the stone bridge with the heron and the pink blossoms is my favorite.
Sylvia, what amazing photos! Your images connect with me. This is an excellent response to the challenge.
