“We didn’t realize we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.” – unknown
I always enjoy the sights and sounds surrounding the Christmas holidays and especially the time spent with family and friends. Christmas music everywhere, Christmas cards, buying gifts, wrapping presents, decorating the house, the smell of the tree and other evergreens throughout the house, all leading up to the big day.
Since Tina is giving us our choice of topics this week, I decided to share a few pictures of holiday decorations. (Each of these images can be enlarged by double clicking it.)
For years, during the Christmas holiday my husband and I would spend several days in New York City or Montreal Canada, soaking up the sighs of the city, enjoying the hustle bustle of people everywhere, the elaborate store decorations and holiday lights. This is one of my favorite pictures from New York City which was taken many years ago. These decorations were in front of the Exxon Building on 6th Avenue.
Visiting Montreal was always a treat because the city never slept. During the holidays back then it was alive with people shopping and specular decorations everywhere. This picture was taken inside a mall in the underground city.
This beautifully decorated Christmas tree welcomed guest to this well-known restaurant in St. Kitts.
Back in the United States, a cheerful snowman family greeted shoppers in the city street. This picture and the header image was taken in Naples, Florida on 5th and 6th Avenue.
This is a scene from Naples Botanical Gardens during their holiday Johnsonville Night Lights Celebration in the Garden.
This well-known lobster trap tree in Kennebunkport Maine is known as one of the most unique Christmas trees in America. The annual lighting of the Tree which kicks off two weeks of Christmas Prelude festivities is well attended by people all over. This annual event started in 1982 and has since become so popular that HGTV recognizes Kennebunkport as the “#2 Christmas Town in America.”
Last but not least is probably my favorite tree which is decorated for the holidays! This Southern Live Oak is located at Kiawah not too far from the bridge going onto the Island.
Hope you have enjoyed seeing a few holiday lights. Thanks goes to Tina for suggesting that each of us pick our own topic. She chose to remember her favorite Christmas memories so be sure to see her beautiful post by clicking here.
I would like to wish everyone and their loved ones a wonderful holiday season full of happiness. And, please travel safely where ever you go.
Remember a little extra kindness to family members, friends and strangers can brighten up someone’s day.
