Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: #163: Keep Walking

This week Amy is asking us to share pictures of people walking.  What better place to see than in Charleston, South Carolina.  Due to it’s size, it is an easy city to walk, and one of the most visited cities in the United States.  Much has been written about Charleston Historic District which showcases magnificent historic homes, churches, and other buildings.  (A post for another day.)  

These pictures show part of the retail and business area in Charleston.  They were taken during a photo shoot with members of the Kiawah Photo Club.  As a side note, these previous posts show additional interesting sights which make up a big part of Charleston’s history – Something Different, Focusing on Details, and Curves

These street pictures show a walk along part of King Street with its many shops and restaurants on a lovely Sunday morning.

Cadets from The Citadel and students from the College of Charleston are frequently seen throughout the city.

Residents, dog lovers and visitors alike enjoy walking along King Street.

On this particular morning a fire alarm went off in a local restaurant, creating a little excitement.  Fortunately, it was not serious and handled quickly by the efficient  firemen.
