“It’s the special moments that keep you going and smiling, make you the person you are and give you a lifetime of memories.” – unknown
With so many special moments over the years it was hard to limit it to a few pictures. The birth of my children and marriage to my husband is at the top of the list. ‘Aha moments’ also count as special moments; they capture my full attention, causing me to pause and savor the moment! A few of these memorable moments are shown below.
Could not resist showing this special moment as one son sorted through his easter basket and the other one waited patiently for me to put the camera away!
“The best things in life are not things, they are moments.” – unknown
For some reason, the sight of my husband standing in the rain eating a cone of gelato was a special moment. He enjoys gelato so much I doubt that he even noticed the rain coming down!
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take your breath away.” – unknown
About seven years ago we acquired two American Cocker Spaniels who were half brothers. At the time this was taken Chester was 4 months old and Bentley was 8 weeks and we had just gotten him. They bonded immediately and to this day remain best friends.
Naturally I have featured our dogs a few times….below are four previous posts:
Another kind of special moment occurred a few years ago when someone asked if I would be willing to let the Town of Kiawah use a few of my pictures on their website. (http://kiawahisland.org) Of course, the answer was Yes.
This picture is currently featured on the Town’s homepage under News/Latest News as well as the others below. This image shows a few Red Knots casually strolling beside the Atlantic Ocean.
Below is one of my favorite pictures of Kiawah’s dolphins. This shows both parents and their calf being accompanied by their guardian.
My photo website, SmugMug, features pictures of Kiawah’s pod of bottlenose dolphins, telling their story and unusual feeding habits. And, below are a couple of previous post featuring them:
Further down the page under FAQ is a flock of Red Knots parading down the beach. These amazing migrating birds visit Kiawah’s beach twice a year as they travel from the coast of southern Chile and Argentina and journey to the mainland islands above the Arctic Circle; a one-way trip of more than 9,300 miles or 14,966.9 kilometers!
The header shot at the top of the post is Red Knots or Calidris canutus rufa. Also the post, Spring, documents the characteristics and habits of these awesome birds.
This picture of birds flying over the Ocean was featured on Kiawah’s homepage website a couple of years ago.
“Life is made up of special moments which make it worth living. There are many cherished moments that are missed due to the stress and fast pace of daily living. We must slow down and remember how precious it is to be alive and to love.” – unknown
