Everyday Objects or Things is the word challenge for the week. Things we normally see and take for granted, hardly giving them a second glance.
“There’s a world out there. Open a window, and it’s there.” – Robin Williams
This week, Patti, http://pilotfishblog.com, is challenging us to spend an extra second or so to really look at something and view it from a new perspective. We recently arrived at our home in Maine so I decided to walk around the house with ‘new eyes’, looking for a topic. When in the kitchen/dining room area, out of habit my eyes automatically went to the windows. So easy to take windows, curtains and an outside view for granted.

I spent a few extra minutes and really noticed what was in front of me – the green and yellow colors in the curtains match the colors in our yard, the golf course and plant in the corner. The plant stand frame duplicates the curves in the curtain design as does the light fixture. Interestingly, I never paid much attention to these details until Patti chose this topic! The three pictures below show different views from the same window taken on different days. (You are able to double click each image to view in full screen.)

The windows of the houses, even if the house is ramshackle, are always beautiful because windows represent light! – Mehmet Murat
