SOMETHING DIFFERENT: Lens-Artists Photo Challenge

Tina asked us to show Something Different this week.  Hmm… a very interesting challenge which made me think about what subjects in photography I least enjoy photographing and are not  in my comfort zone.  Photographing people up close and especially strangers in a public place is something I rarely do and not what you would expect from me!

“I like to challenge myself.  I like to learn – so I like to try new things and try to keep growing.” – David Schwimmer

All of these images are from a morning photo shoot which focused on street photography in Charleston, SC, on part of King Street.  Some of you may remember this first picture from a previous blog, Cityscapes on Jan 26, 2019; I decided to start with this to show how beautiful the city is – rich colors, full of lfe and steeped in American history.

During our photo shoot session, the fire department was called to check out a kitchen fire in a nearby resturant.

Shortly after the firemen left, on another corner I observed this student accompanied by his best friend.  College students from The College of Charleston and The Citadel, which are frequently seen through out the City, bring alot of life and energy to Charleston.

King Street is also one of the many streets known as a popular shopping area for clothing and anything else you can think of.

Hope you enjoy these pictures which were taken over a period of about three hours on a small section of King Street.  A quick glimse of public life like this is certainly a different kind of photography for me!
