CHANGES and/or CHANGEABLE: Lens-Artists Photo Challenge

Amy challenges us to show pictures demonstrating Changes and/or Changeable events artistically and in nature.  The digital age of photography ushered in the capability of making photographs Changeable and to use one’s imagination to create “artistic images”.

Changes are obvious in nature; changing weather patterns, flocks of birds migrating to warmer climates, flowering plants dying.  A photograph is Changeable as its visual appearance takes on a new look; appearing abstract, artistic, dark and moody, colorful and upbeat, whatever the photographer desires.

“A thing of beauty is a joy forever and Nature is the most obvious thing that gives us joy forever. It is our duty to preserve Nature. The sight of greenery, valley, mountains, seas and trees are all a sight to watch that gives a boost to our spirit…”   Unknown

The original picture shows a brilliant red flower against a tan background, when editing Changes were made introducing subtle colors so the image appears much softer.

Fall foliage paints the landscape with wonderful shades of yellow, red and orange, where green leaves once prevailed.  An oil painting filter was used to blend the beautiful colors.

A field thistle radically Changes when moving beyond the maturity stage as winter approaches.  The purple flower heads are dead,  the remaining stems are withered and sharp prickles cover the plant along with long white hairs which look like cobwebs.

This same picture is cropped and edited to look as though it was painted on canvas by a professional artist.

This is a view of the top of the Chicago Tribune Tower in Chicago, Illinois.  For fun, two editing techniques are shown using the same Changeable photograph at the bottom.

The best way to accomplish Changes and/or Changeable is to photograph the original picture at the highest resolution possible, this allows for more creative flexibility when editing.  The software programs used here are Adobe Photoshop CC, Topaz and Nik.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing just a few ways to have more fun with your photographs and be creative!
