Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #330 Favorite Photos in 2024

This week gives us the chance to show our favorite photos in 2024, whether they have been previously published or not. The first couple shown have never been published. Even though they were taken a few years ago, after recently stumbling on them in my photo archives and re-editing, they took on a very different look. They are now included in my list of all-time favorites in 2024.   The first picture, from Venice, Italy, was re-edited so it would hopefully have more of a contemporary look.   (You can double click each picture to enlarge it.)

An American Bald Eagle which is a permanet resident at the The Avian Conservation Center in Awendaw, SC, and has become a big part of the Center’s educational program. Some years ago he was rescued after landing on live electrical lines which caused permenant nerve damage in his legs. Since being outfitted with a brace and/or supports it helps him to grab the branch and not fall whenever he lands.

A recent version of “The Painter” on Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine.

This vivid sky below was seen behind our house in Wells, Maine, on October 10th when the aurora borealis was visible in the northern sky. To be able to witnessing this event through the camera lens was unbelievable experience!

An old, haunted house situated the edge of a cliff in Kennebunkport, Maine. It is hard to believe that it continues to survived all the hurricanes and severe weather which is so common in Maine.

These remaining favorites were taken in South Carolina either on Kiawah Island or downtown Charleston.

I will close by showing my favorite drink which is coffee, served either warm or with ice!

Hope you have enjoyed re-visting some favorite pictures in 2024.  And as always, many thanks to the tireless leaders of the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge for always coming up with intriguing and challenging topics each week!

Happy New Year to everyone!  Wishing you good health and a great year in 2025.  And please remember how powerful an act of kindness or a smile and can be to a family member, friends and strangers.

  1. Wonderful post Sylvia! I liked the painterly look you gave photos and that window (?) just before that delicious coffee image. I’m with you; hot or iced, but not warm!

    1. Many thanks, Anne! I loved seeing those windows, a few details about them are in my comment below to Donna.

    1. Thank you, Donna, I used AI to create a part of the ocean and the appearance of the sky around the haunted house. It was fun playing with it. And those two circular windows are part of the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon Building on East Bay Street in the French Quarter (Charleston, SC). These windows are situated on either side of the thick wall, the man is standing in the hallway, reading, and someone else is walking by the cars on the sidewalk.

  2. Sylvia, what a beautiful revisit to your 2024 favorites. I especially liked all the painterly look edits you created. They are gorgeous!

    1. Thank you Egidio, must admit that sometimes it’s fun to use different software programs to create a different look. So glad you like seeing thesse!
