Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #324 Details

“To create something exceptional, your mindset must be relentlessly on the smallest detail.” – Giorgio Armani

This week Patti suggests we revisit some photos and look for interesting details to highlight. She writes, “Choose a subject (a statue, a person, a place, street art, etc.) and take a series of photos about your subject. Get closer and closer to the subject, focusing on a particular detail(s).  Vary your shots by changing your perspective or angle of shooting or even your lens.  Post three photos of your subject. Feel free to shoot another series on a second subject.”

Piazza San Marco (St Mark’s Square) is the heart of Venice, Italy. It is said to be one of the most famous and beautiful squares in the world dating back to the Middle Ages. When visitors arrive at the dock, they are immediately caught up in the energy of crowds of people milling about, conducting business and sightseeing. Important government buildings, restaurants and meeting places are located here. When looking at these magnificent old buildings it was like taking a walk back through Venetian history. It has been written that Napoleon called Piazza San Marco “the world’s most beautiful drawing room”

This first series of pictures was taken around the docks.  Gondoliers are everywhere offering tours of the canals and cityscape to anyone for a small fee. This is also a popular area for photographers and citizens to spend time soaking in the sights and sounds of the city.

Interesting details below, from the first picture, shows a man resting beside the streetlight and the gondola service area in the background.

Taken a little distance away from the man resting, these two men are talking and enjoying each other’s company.

The second series of pictures below was recently taken on one of several beaches in Wells, Maine. Beautiful homes are everywhere along the shoreline and animals are permitted to enjoy the beachs and ocean here once summer visitors have left for the season.

“The difference between something good and something great is attention to detail. – Charles R. Swindoll

Thank you goes to Patti for suggesting this great topic and reminding us to look for and be  more aware of interesting details in pictures. Be sure to see her post by clicking here.

Hope everyone has a good week. Remember to take care of yourself and stay safe.

  1. Sylvia, both sets are wonderful. I especially liked the first set with the painting edit you used for the photos. It was fitting to those images. Great work!
