“The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul”. – Alfred Austin
Anne-Christain writes that several essential elements are used to create gardens; water, representing life-giving force; and plants, which provide the color and changes throughout the seasons. You also often find bridges, water falls and stepping stones.
This banner image shows one of the many lovely flower gardens planted by neighbors in our golf course community in Well, Maine. For me, gardens are a wonderful place to explore, relax and reflect.

Ann Christine suggested we share a few pictures of interesting gardens which caught our attention. Be sure to visit her post to see the many lovely gardens she has photographed.
Hope you have enjoyed seeing picturing showing What’s in a Garden. As a side note, the vase of roses in the first picture was a Valentine’s Day gift from my husband. As I often do, I like to photograph flowers in the sunlight near the front door. Glad I had the camera handy when Tucker wandered by and decided to stop and smell the roses!!
“To me, photography is an art of observation, it’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. – Elliot Erwitt
